Rick Blowers '68 442 W30
My 68 442 W30 was a drag car till 1970, then it sat till 1994. The car had
gotten very rough over the years. The original 400 was long gone so I
installed a .030 over 455 with Mondello guts and "D" casting heads, dual
carter carbs and lots of other goodies. The Muncie and 4.33 rear end were not
suited to street driving so a 6 speed Richmond trans and 3.08 rear were added.
H/O racing suspension, 16x8 Centerline wheels and BFGoodrich Comp T/A's help
in the handleing department. Flowmaster exhaust make the big block sound
The olive green paint was stripped away and Ultra Violet Poly (purple)
was sprayed on the original sheet metal. The Ralley stripes were layed back on
from a template made from the facyory stripes.
The interior is original except
for Procar seats, a new rug and package tray. Auto Meter guages, tilt column,
sport steering wheel and a Sony CD system add to creature comforts. It took 2
years to get all the parts, 6 months to build and paint it and now the fun
