Jeff Herbert's '70 Cutlass Convertible

This is my 1970 Cutlass Supreme Convertible. It was purchased in the summer of 1985, and was my first car at the age of 16. It was originally equipped with a 320HP 455-2bbl/TH400, a 2.56 12 bolt rear, factory a/c, front disc brakes, SSI wheels, and was #50 Bamboo yellow with #997 Pearl White bench seat interior. The car was sold (very reluctantly) in the fall of 1991 to a friend/neighbor, in poor shape and many different colors.

In the spring of 1999, I spotted the car for sale at a local Tote-The-Note lot. It was red and kind of sad looking. I inquired about the car and found that the friend I sold it to owned the lot. He sold me the car back (at a discount over the sticker price) and a lot of work has ensued.

The original motor was destroyed years ago (as were many replacements) due to regular bouts of teenage abuse, and the car now sports a 350/TH350 from a 72 Cutlass S. I have replaced-restored many items on the car in the 18 months I have had it back. Some of these are: Replace missing stainless trim, removing the red Cavalier seats, removing the red Euro sport steering wheel, removing the keystone classics and replacing them with SSI's, and many other things small and large to numerous to list.

I am in the process of building a Multi-port Fuel Injected 455 / TH200-4R combo for the car, and plan to start the laborious task of a complete restoration in the near future.
