Tom and Julie Lanham's '72 F85

This is my 1972 F85. I have always had a love for the 1968 to 1972 Cutlass. My father owned a 1972 Cutlass with a 350 2bbl, ever since that car I have wanted one of my own. Yes, I guess I truly wanted "My Father's Oldsmobile"!
Well, this past January I found this 1972 F85 that was for sale on Bryceman's page. The car was an Arizona car for the first 23 years of it's life, and was brought up to Chicago to sell. With 93,000 original miles it runs great and the body and frame are in incredible shape with no rust!
This is one of very few F85/Cutlass's with a 350 / 2bbl / 3 speed. The original owner had the 3 speed on the column converted to a Hurst floor shifter at the dealer. It is even more unique with its two-tone factory paint job.
My plans for this car include a new paint job, the original paint is badly faded. I would also like to get a few more horsepower out of the engine, so I am going to be doing some work under the hood as well. The interior is in pretty good shape. If I keep the bench seat I am going to have it re-upholstered, but I may put buckets in instead.
I will post more pictures as I make progress on it. I am currently trying to convince my wife that a new paint job would have more lasting memories than a vacation.
