Michael Maxwell's '72 442
This is my 1972 4-4-2 W-29. It is based on the Cutlass S
model. In 1972, 4-4-2 was an option on any Cutlass. The code for this option was
W-29. I have had this car for 14 years. I am the 2nd owner. The color is Sunfire
Yellow, color code 56. This was the only year for this color. As you can see, it
is a beautiful color and the SSIII wheels really set it off.

The base price for a Cutlass S Hardtop Coupe G87 was $3086.60.
You won't believe the cost for the W-29 option! It was only $29.00! When you add
up everything the take home price was $4368.90. The A/C and auto-trans jacked up
the price a lot.
My 2nd paint job and restoration was completed this summer
(1999). It was in the paint and body shop for 6 weeks. These pictures are
after round one of the bodywork and just after painting.
