Mike Carpenter's '69 442

Here is my 69 442 I purchased on March 17th of the year 2000. They say to start with the BEST car you can find. This car had only 2 previous owners before me and only has 75 K on the clock. Originally saffron with black vinyl top and interior, it had been painted 68 crimson about 7 years ago. Black stripes were added to the hood and unfortunateley the decklid also. Loaded with options like tinted windows, speedminder speedo, rear defrost, power bench, power disc brakes, air conditioning, am fm stereo, map light mirror just to name a few. Always a west coast car, it is sporting practically no rust. It only needed seatcovers, and engine/undercarriage detailing to be very very nice.

As of 5-22-00 the body is off the frame, seats have been recovered, and front clip totally dissassembled. The front frame rails have been stripped to bare metal and the engine is on a stand. The rear axle has been painted with POR 15. The original block is in excellent condition, as are the heads and exhaust manifolds. The heads are at the machine shop recieveing hardened seats. The EGR bumps were ground off first. Hopefully we'll have it all back togeter before the summer is in full tilt. I have been documenting ALL the work I have done on this car with a daily log. At this point it is starting to look like a book.
