Bill & Mary Szelag's '70 Cutlass Supreme Convertible

This 1970 Cutlass Supreme Convertible was purchased in Illinois in 1975 with 36,000 miles and served as a daily driver through 1980. The purchase price was $1350. It was painted shortly after purchase with a change in color from the original Astro blue to a dark blue.

From 1980 to 1991, it was used for occasional pleasure driving (with the top down, of course.) It was re-restored in 1991, including some new sheet metal and a repaint to a later-model GM dark sapphire metallic blue, which contrasts nicely with the silver blue interior. Equipment includes a 310 HP Rocket 350 V-8 with four BRL carburetor, Turbo Hydramatic 350 transmission, air conditioning and power disc brakes. Since 1991, our Cutlass has been driven more than 15,000 miles to many car shows, Olds Club activities and other interesting destinations. Although the restoration project was completed when we lived in Texas, the car now calls Detroit, Michigan, home and was a part of the Automobile Centennial parade, the Oldsmobile Centennial Celebration in Lansing and the Woodward Dream Cruise (all four years!) We love spending time with our Cutlass, and it has brought us many new friends and great fun.
