Douglas Vara's '69 442

I have owned my 1969 442 Holiday Coupe since 1987, it has a 4 speed transmission with a 3.23:1 rear end. The exterior color is called Saffron, and the interior is black. The car was originally purchased at Baruch Oldsmobile in Gary Indiana.

There are 31 factory installed options and accessories on my '69, they are

W42 Dual Hood Stripe
M20 4-Speed Wide-Ratio Transmission
D55 Sports Console
G80 Anti-Spin Rear Axle
Y72 Heavy-Duty Engine Cooling Equipment
C60 Four-Season Air Conditioning Equipment
N40 Roto-Matic Power Steering
N34 Custom-Sport Steering Wheel
N33 Tilt away Steering Wheel
JL2 Power With Front Disc Brakes
A31 Power Side Windows
A93 Power Door Locks
A91 Power Trunk Lid Latch
A46 4-Way Power Bucket Seat Adjuster
N66 Super Stock II Wheels
PL5 F70X14 Wide Oval RWL Tires
U63 Deluxe Push Button Radio
U75 Electric Antenna (Rear)
U57 Stereo Tape Player And Rear Seat Speaker
U21 Rocket Rally Pac
C08 Vinyl Rooftop Covering
C50 Rear Window Defogger
D33 Remote Control Outside Rearview Mirror
VE1 Rear Guard Rubber Insert
A01 Soft-Ray Tinted Windshield and Windows
B32 Auxiliary Front Floor Mats
B33 Auxiliary Rear Floor Mats
B93 Chrome Door Edge Guard Mouldings
W39 Deluxe Seat Belts With Front Shoulder
Y60 Convenience Lamps And Mirrors
U15 Safety Sentinel

According to the order sheet, the only additional option that this 4-speed car could have had is U89 Trailer Electrical Wiring. K30 Cruise Control, G66 Superlift Rear Shock Absorbers and G51 Heavy-Duty Rear Springs were only available with the M40 Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 Transmission in '69. The 3.23:1 rear end ratio was the lowest available with A/C.

The only non-original parts on the car when these pictures were taken (other than stuff like belts, water pump and a few hoses) are the 15" wheels and tires. I do have a set of reproduction F70X14 Goodyears on the original 14" wheels, but it drives much better with the 15" Goodyear radials.
