Robert Whitaker's 1969 Hurst/Olds

This is my 1969 Hurst/Olds. It was built in May 1969 and one of only 906 Hurst/Olds built that year. I purchased the car in January 1979 and have slowly brought it into pretty descent condition. I had it repainted in 1988. I rebuilt the engine in 1980 and again in 1990. It was my daily transportation from 1980 - 1991. I now only drive it during the summer months, mostly to shows.

My Hurst is the W-46 variant. This means is an air conditioned car with a 3:23 rearend gear ratio. Over the years I've gathered quite a bit of knowledge about the Hurst/Olds and I'm continuously finding something new about these cars that I didn't know before. This is what makes being a member of the car clubs and e-mail lists so much fun.

I'm very much into performance Oldsmobiles. My favorite saying: There is no substitute for cubic inches. This is especially true behind 455 of them powered by Olds!
