1970 442

1970 4-4-2, built in September 1969, I purchased the car from its third owner in October 1973. My wife and I took it on our honeymoon and it served as a daily driver until 1977. At that time it was stashed in a garage for seven years. I then pulled it out and "got it going again" for about $2500. It is equipped with 455 engine with a W-30 .474 lift 320 degree cam, 4 speed transmission, 3.42 posi heavy duty rear end, power steering, power disc brakes, SS II wheels, light accessory group, black bucket seat interior with console, AM radio with rear speaker, and Sebring yellow paint.

The exterior is mostly original with the exception of the right front fender. It was replaced in early 1970 when the first owner turned left and got hit by another car. The interior has received reproduction seat covers on the buckets and reproduction carpet. The door panels were rebuilt with new carpet installed on the bottoms. The car has turned a best of 14.40 @ 100 mph with very poor traction in the 1/4 mile. Future plans call for another mechanical freshening up and the refurbish the body. It sucks gas and is a little nasty to drive in town, but it sure is fun.
